For most people, the Super Bowl is one of the few days of the year dedicated entirely to watching football—and unrepentantly chowing down on tailgate foods.
This year’s showdown pitted the mighty New England Patriots (Tom Brady had a chance at taking home a sixth Super Bowl ring) against the scrappy Philadelphia Eagles (whose backup quarterback Nick Foles was tasked with—and accomplished—replacing injured MVP candidate Carson Wentz), and fulfilled its promise to be a fantastic game.
But for Americans not from Philadelphia or New England, the biggest night in football was also the biggest night in advertising. It’s no secret that plenty of fans look forward to these television spots as much as the game itself.
From Bud Light’s “Dilly Dilly” ad to Stella Artois’ campaign featuring Matt Damon, here are the most hilarious, outrageous, and inspirational commercials that ran during the Super Bowl this year.
1. Doritos Blaze vs. Mountain Dew Ice
Missy Elliot and Morgan Freeman (team Moutain Dew) square off against Peter Dinklage and Busta Rhymes (team Doritos) in an epic matchup you didn’t know you needed.
2. The Bud Knight – Bud Light
“Hark! A hero arriveth to smite thine enemies and pick up thy 24 packs.” Bud Light’s viral “Dilly Dilly” campaign is back with a medieval-style ad that both Game of Thrones fans and beer lovers are sure to enjoy.
3. The Perfect Fit ft. Chris Pratt – Michelob Ultra

4. Human – M&M’S
The talking, red M&M takes shape in human form as Danny DeVito, and if you ask us, the casting choice couldn’t have been more perfect.
5. Taps – Water.org and Stella Artois
Stella Artois once again teamed up with water.org cofounder and Patriots fan Matt Damon to encourage beer lovers to make their Super Bowl party have an impact by providing access to clean water in the developing world. How does one do this? Buy a 12 pack of Stella, of course—a portion of the profits from each case sold until April 15 will support water.org.
7. It’s a Tide Ad ft. David Harbour – Tide
“A clam? A car? A David Harbour in your bathroom? Oh, I get it. It’s a Tide commercial.” Why? Because of the clean clothes, of course.

Whether you’re swiping through a dating app or trying to get approved for a mortgage, Keegan-Michael Key and Big Sean are here to help simplify things and give it to you straight.
9. Jeep Jurassic – Jeep
Jeff Goldblum may not have appeared in Jurassic World 2’s Super Bowl trailer, but he’s still an essential part of the iconic franchise—and if this commercial proves anything, he always will be.
10. Touchdown Celebrations to Come – NFL
We saw a ton of creative and ridiculous touchdown celebrations in 2017, but according to this hilarious NFL commercial, the best are yet to come. In this spot, Eli Manning and Odell Beckham Jr. recreate the classic Dirty Dancing scene to help them get inspired for the 2018 season.
