Finally, we have yet another glimpse into the epic destruction that will be the Great War in Season 7 of Game of Thrones. Thanks, HBO producers, for giving us something to hold on to until July 16. The trailer opens with a solemn Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) walking through what looks like Winterfell, as Littlefinger (Aiden Gillan) intones: “Don’t fight in the North or the South. Fight every battle everywhere. Always. In your mind.” We also see Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) reaching what looks like Dragonstone, her family’s ancestral castle, after spending the better part of the show’s run in exile. Next up is Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) with her brother/lover Jaime (former Men’s Fitness cover guy Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), and glimpses of their many enemies closing in from all directions. (How could their blade still not be sharpened since the first trailer?) This being Game of Thrones, there are battle scenes galore—including explosions and lots of fire—and multiple glimpses of the White Walkers that Jon Snow (Kit Harington) has been warning everyone about. (As if a war could be fought without a visit from the ice zombies.) The trailer closes with a glimpse into the winter that is to come, as Stark says, “When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies—but the pack survives.” All we know is that we won’t survive if we have to wait much longer for the new season. Watch the latest trailer for Game of Thrones—and remember, #WinterIsHere:
