Things got hairy between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the San Jose Sharks on Thursday night. Nazem Kadri of the Maple Leafs and Sharks center Joe Thornton got into it immediately after the game’s opening face off. During the scuffle, Kadri’s hands got tangled in Thornton’s famously majestic beard and came away with a fistful of fur.

In a bit of good news, the section of beard made its way back to the Shark’s bench where it could be used as a souvenir, according to CBS. Check out footage of the fisticuffs below.
