If you follow Josh Brolin on Instagram, you probably already know the Avengers: Infinity War actor loves nothing more than deadpanning his way through a workout. Brolin’s sense of humor is… dry. Like, accidentally-left-a-cactus-in-the-dehydrator dry. That said, the actor behind Infinity War ultra-supervillain Thanos (and our June 2018 cover star) has plenty of comedic range. So when Brolin appeared on Wednesday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! alongside Infinity War co-stars Chadwick Boseman, Chris Hemsworth, Karen Gillan, and Sebastian Stan, he was game for a classic Jimmy Kimmel stunt: surprising Marvel superfans waiting in line for tickets to Infinity War. (Hemsworth, wearing a fly purple suit, greeted one woman dressed as Thor with a tender pat on the head.)

Back in the studio, Kimmel issued an “arts and crafts project” to the actors: drawing their own characters. (“We’ve done this each night this week, and no group [of Avengers actors] has taken it as seriously as you guys did,” Kimmel quipped.)

Brolin, who showed his drawing of Thanos last, prefaced his art with an explainer: “It’s been told to me that his face looks like a little bit like a scrotum.”

On the interview couch, Kimmel asked the actors if they’d taken any mementos from the set of Avengers: Infinity War. “He obviously took my costume,” Brolin quipped, pointing a finger at the purple-clad Hemsworth. “Maybe a little bit of jealousy going on. I thought I rocked it really well, but he’s already taken over the purple.” “You dropped the ball, man,” Hemsworth shot back. “I don’t know what you’re doing with the gray.”

Check out Brolin’s feature story in the June 2018 issue of Men’s Journal, on newsstands now.
