Lebron’s personal driver may be looking for another gig in the very near future. The best basketball player in the world appears in a new digital commercial for Intel’s forthcoming driverless vehicles. At first he’s skeptical of his new ride, but by the short spot’s end, he’s wanting to keep it. The advertisement will be the first big push toward winning the public’s trust when it comes to rolling sans human guidance. The ad follows Intel’s big jump into acquiring and developing driverless car technology. It recently purchased “autonomous-driving” company Mobileye for 15.3 billion, and in partnership with BMW and Waymo will be spending $250 million on developing the necessary tech. According to a report on the Verge, Intel will premiere the commercial on television before the NBA Season Opener between Lebron’s Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics on October 17. Catch Lebron in his new whip below.
