Runner Kelly Agnew was posting some ridiculous times in marathons and ultramarathons—times so ridiculous some people didn’t believe they could actually be pulled off. Those skeptics were correct. According to Deadspin, the runner started piling up impressive times and eventually cruised to the fastest time at The White Rim Trail, along with prominent finishes at other major races. This dude showing up out of nowhere and crushing courses got some people taking notice.

The race that really put his performance under scrutiny was the 2013-2014 Across The Years Multiday, which starts on New Year’s Eve and ends on New Year’s Day. He won by doing 201.5 miles in 48 hours. The next year in the same race he beat the rest of the competition by an astounding 55 miles. At the 2017-2018 Across The Year’s event, officials paid close attention to Agnew and found he wasn’t checking in at half-mile points in the laps. Instead, he was hiding in Porta Potties and then popping out to finish his laps. He was tossed from this year’s race and, upon further inspection, it was decided he had done this before, so his previous results were stripped, too. Getting caught not only cost Agnew his Across The Year’s results, but also caused a sponsor to drop him. He has yet to appear and respond to the allegations. Wonder if anyone’s checked the Porta Potty?
