Todd Snyder Japanese Selvedge Chino Officer Pant in Olive Todd Snyder While the turning of the leaves usually means swapping out my chinos for thick, raw denim, sometimes you don’t want to wear something that feels like a chore — which is absolutely how new raw denim can feel. Luckily, New York-based designer Todd Snyder introduced a comfortable, sturdy alternative: the Japanese selvedge chino officer pant.

If you’re unfamiliar with Todd Snyder, we love the brand’s stuff because it’s, more of less, nicer versions of the things we grew up wearing: grey, Rocky Balboa-esque sweatshirts, extremely lived-in t-shirts, and slick sneaker collaborations with brands we’ve worn forever, but tailored for right now. These pants, part of Todd Snyder’s new fall line, are made of Japanese twill and cut a little loose, making them feel like a pair of upscale fatigues. The military inspiration is there, but with a more flattering silhouette than what you’d see in the field — which is good, since you’re absolutely paying for the attention to detail. All in all, something I’ll want to wear the hell out of. If you’re looking for something extremely comfortable that can hang just as well on a Sunday errand-run as it does in a casual office, the officer pant is a good way to go. [$198; toddsnyder.com]
