A Facebook post brought the whole situation to the Internet’s attention when a father raved about his son continuing to get paid, even though the store had closed.

TJX spokesperson Erika Tower spoke to the Boston Globe saying, “We believe it is the right thing for us to do under these circumstances.” She did not tell the paper how many employees were still being paid but did say this was not the first time the company had continued to pay workers in the aftermath of a natural disaster.
