The Maui Dream Retreat is just around the corner. On April 23-28, eight paddlers will get the opportunity to travel to Maui and learn from the world’s top instructors while doing daily Maliko Runs. One of those instructors is Suzie Cooney, a Maui local who has spent years teaching both pros and amateurs about the nuances of downwinding. But when not teaching others to paddle, you’re just as likely to find her downwinding or surfing on her own.
