Surfing just lost a major legend. Bruce Brown, the father of surf films, died on Monday. He’d just turned 80. The iconic filmmaker was best known for his movies The Endless Summer and On Any Sunday.
Brown’s body of work inspired so many people in the surfing community, something that was manifest in the flood of tributes that followed in the wake of his passing. It’s no doubt that this loss has deeply impacted all of those whole love surf, sun, and great films. Read some of the heartfelt and touching odes below.
