After launching its Falcon 9 rocket at the end of March, SpaceX will be at it again on Thursday with its next event, the launch of the Falcon 9 Block 5. The rocket is scheduled to be launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on May 10, with an estimated launch window of 4 p.m. ET to 6:25 p.m. ET.

UPDATE: SpaceX was able to retrieve their block 5 Falcon 9 rocket after the launch, meaning the company will be able to use it again for another launch, according to CNET.com. The company is attempting its ninth launch of the year, and this will be the first with the “Block 5” upgrade from SpaceX. What makes the launch of the Block 5 so important for SpaceX is that the company is hoping to reuse rockets as part of its plans for the future. Reusable rockets means less time between launches, and a lot less money spent on building new rockets for each subsequent launch. Musk has said that the Block 5 Falcon 9 model could potentially be used “upwards of 100 times with minimal refurbishment,” according to The Verge. The upgraded Block 5 includes a retrofitted booster and new heat shields. It will also carry a Bangabandhu-1 communications satellite that will be put into orbit for the Bangladesh Communication Satellite Company, according to SpaceX.
