Robbie Bond is just your regular 10-year-old kid who is doing extraordinary things for national parks. The Honolulu youth has started Kids Speak for Parks where he’s asking for signatures as part of a petition to save the parks and monuments that have been threatened by the Trump administration. So far he’s collected over 2,000.

Breaking: Trump Confirms That, Yes, He’s Shrinking Bears Ears

Bond was inspired to do something after he learned one of his favorite places in the whole world, Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument, was in danger. Instead of being bummed out he sprung to action. He’s visited twelve of the threatened monuments to shine some light on his cause and the plight of parks.  He wants his fellow fourth graders around the nation to join his “army” and show President Trump this nation’s parks are “not for sale.” Other parks enthusiasts have begun to take note of Bond’s efforts. Yvon Chouinard who is the founder of Patagonia, spoke with People about how impressed he’s been with Bond’s passion and enthusiasm. “Over and over, I’ve seen great things accomplished by only one person, whether it was taking down a useless dam, cleaning up a toxic canal, or taking down an evil government,” he said. “Robbie Bond is on track to be one of those exceptional persons.” Check out Bond’s site, Kids Speak for Parks, here.
