1 lb lean ground turkey 6 Tbsp marinara sauce, divided 1 clove garlic, minced 2 Tbsp grated Parmesan cheese ½ tsp dried oregano ¼ tsp dried thyme ¼ tsp kosher salt ⅛ tsp black pepper ¼ tsp red pepper flakes 2 tsp olive oil ½ cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese 4 whole grain hamburger buns Fresh basil leaves

How to make it

Mix the turkey, 2 Tbsp marinara sauce, garlic, cheese, oregano, thyme, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes together in a large bowl. Form the turkey mix into four patties. Heat the oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat and add the patties. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes, then flip and cook for another 4 to 5 minutes until a thermometer inserted into the center of each patty reads 165 degrees Fahrenheit. During the last minute of cooking, add 2 Tbsp shredded cheese on top of each burger. Cover the skillet to melt the cheese. To serve, place the patties on toasted hamburger buns. Top each patty with 1 Tbsp marinara sauce and a few basil leaves. Then add the top bun and serve.
