Those traveling to Patagonia’s homepage right now will be hit directly with white type against a black background. The outdoor apparel giant has struck out hard against the Trump administration’s reduction of the Bears Ears National Monument and the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. Immediately large font grabs the visitor stating, “The President Stole Your Land.” In addition to the message, the company announced it is filing a lawsuit against the administration to reverse the decision. Going within the website, Patagonia has many buttons scattered throughout where people can “Take Action” to tweet about their displeasure with this reduction of public lands. The message received after clicking through reads, “In an illegal move, the president just reduced the size of Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monuments. This is the largest elimination of protected land in American history.” The North Face also tweeted out their opposition along with a pledge of “$100,000 to the development of a Bears Ears Education Center.”
