At approximately 11 a.m. on January 7, the Shoshone County Sheriff’s office received a report of up to three separate inbounds avalanche incidents at Silver Mountain, Idaho. Emergency responders were able to rescue five skiers, and two skiers were killed in the slides, as reported by the Shoshone Sheriff’s Department. Silver Mountain has stated in press releases that all skiers have been accounted for. The slides occurred in the Wardner Peak zone of the mountain, which has some of the mountain’s steepest expert terrain, much of which was closed Tuesday....
