A 25-year-old British man was fatally attacked by a crocodile after venturing into the jungle near a popular surfing beach in Sri Lanka known as Elephant Rock. The victim was identified as Financial Times journalist Paul McClean, who was vacationing with friends when the tragedy occurred Thursday in a lagoon near Aragum Bay, according to The Telegraph. “He was learning to surf and after that he wanted to go to the toilet,” Fawas Lafeer, owner of Safa Surf School north of where the incident occurred, told The Telegraph....

Arnold Schwarzenegger said he would be back for another Terminator movie. Now, it’s official. Terminator director James Cameron made the announcement that Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton—the original Sarah Connor from the first two films—will appear in the new movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Cameron will produce the new film, which will be directed by Deadpool helmer Tim Miller, along with Paramount and Skydance. Cameron, who directed the first two legendary action films of the franchise, came up with the story for the new movie, and formed a writers room to create “what is planned to be a trilogy that can stand as single movies or form an overarching story....

The 2020 Tokyo Marathon, one of the largest running events in the world, will only be open to elite competitors. The organizers announced Feb. 17 that due to the spread of coronavirus, over 37,000 scheduled runners will be shut out of the March 1 event. “We have been preparing for the Tokyo Marathon 2020,” the organizers said on their website. “While implementing preventive safety measures, however, now that case of COVID-19 has been confirmed within Tokyo, we cannot continue to launch the event within the scale we originally anticipated and we regret to inform you the following: The Tokyo Marathon 2020 will be held only for the marathon elites and the wheelchair elites....

Last month, news reports circulated nation-wide about an Arkansas kayaker who drowned after being sucked into a newly formed whirlpool on the Spring River in northern Arkansas. The victim was 64-year-old Donald Wright, a resident of Searcy, Ark., where he was executive director of the nonprofit Life Recovery Center. According to various reports, Wright was an experienced kayaker leading a paddling trip with residents from the center on June 11, 2018, when the accident occurred....

Drehmel’s successful completion of his third marathon portage — this year completing it solo, portaging the full 26.2 miles in a mere five hours and 23 minutes — served as the latest installment to the tradition that this glutton for punishment started in 2016 when he and portage partner/girlfriend, Abby Dare, entered the Ely Marathon and took turns carrying a canoe....
