A secret to packing light is multi-purpose, multi-wear clothing that can stand up to all kinds of demands. Sure, you could wear your workout apparel on your next trip, but only kids can get away with dressing like scrubs at the airport. Better, find clothes that look like they’re for the street but perform like they’re at the gym. Lululemon, the Canadian brand until recently mainly associated with yoga, has the answer. All their products have the benefits of being sports-ready gear, but several of their pieces work well for the street, too. Lululemon uses tech fabrics and body mapping to ensure their clothes perform well no matter the stress you put them under — and that includes being shoehorned into the middle seat on a cross-country red-eye. Here are some essentials from Lululemon that can assure you both look and feel good when you arrive.

Lululemon

ABC Pant You’d never guess the comfort and ingenuity built into these trousers until you put them on. The ABC Pant ($128) feels like something you’d wear to the gym but looks like something you can wear on a date. In regular, tall, and slim fits, they work thanks to the four-way stretch of the sweat-wicking Warpstreme fabric and the ABC engineering. ABC engineering? That’s Anti-Ball Crushing: the wide-paneled gusset lets the family jewels breathe and sit comfortably, regardless of the amount of bending, climbing, and stretching you do. Feel free to march like a soldier in a parade; your boys won’t complain. Should you end up biking after dark, just flip up the cuffs and thoughtfully-placed reflective details will show cars where you are.

Lululemon

Metal Vent Tech Polo This lightweight and breathable polo ($88) wicks sweat, so it’s perfect for warmer climes, an afternoon on the golf course, or that day you need to go from the non-air-conditioned train straight to lunch. The fabric is powered with X-Static and Silverscent technology to inhibit the growth of the bacteria that cause odor. Bonus: it has four-way stretch, so you can be sure your swing isn’t impeded.

Lululemon

Commission Pant The Commission Pant ($128) has a more relaxed and casual fit than the ABC. They look like your everyday chino, but they’re much more comfortable. These pants are made from Qwick Chino fabric which has two-way stretch. Lycra is added to help them keep their shape. The pants are water-repellent too, so if you’re caught in a torrential downpour, you won’t mind. As with the ABC Pant, there’s a passport-sized secure pocket hidden inside a back pocket, and the inside of the cuffs have reflective detail. They’re in tall and regular fit, and come in four colors.

Lululemon

No Sock Sock  If you’re wearing shorts or if you’ve rolled up the hem of your ABC pants and you want to show off your ankles, Lululemon lets you do it blister- and stink-free with their No Sock Sock ($18). Available in seven colors, they’re cut low so they won’t show. Thanks to three stripes of grippy material, they won’t slide down and off your foot after prolonged walking. These socks have no seams at the toes, so there’s no bulky ridge of fabric which will irritate after you’ve climbed the steps of yet another temple. Like the Metal Vent Tech Polo, they’re made with sweat-wicking and odor-inhibiting technology.
