That time has come where we get to look back at the biggest, craziest and most daring big-wave surfing pursuits from the past year. That is, the nominees for the 2018 World Surf League Big Wave Awards have just been announced. The WSL Big Wave Awards is the biggest night in big-wave surfing where the world’s top big-wave riders get the recognition they deserve for hucking themselves down the faces of some of the most powerful surf on the planet. This year the Big Wave Awards will be taking place at an invitation-only gala in Southern California on Saturday, April 28. Below is the list of all the nominees for six of the seven categories. As the WSL tells in the press release announcing the nominees, the Men’s Best Overall Performance Award nominees are still under review and will be announced this Thursday, April 12.
