Finally put that extra nine grand to use by bidding on one of Neil Young’s crazy cool model trains. The rock legend is putting up part of his massive collection of Lionel model trains at Julein’s Auctions in Los Angeles, according to Reuters. He’s letting go over 200 of his pieces, and they do not come cheap. He began collecting over 20 years ago as a way to connect with his son Ben, who has cerebral palsy.  Julien’s is saying two of the big ticket items include the Lionel Hudson factory prototype locomotive and the H.O.A.R.D tour psychedelic Vanderbilt Hudson locomotive which both look to sell between $3,000 and $9,000. Young has never been shy about his love of the models. In 2012 he hung on Letterman’s couch and the two talked shop. Young detailed how he created a switch for the trains for him and his son to enjoy the locomotives. He also likes the smell of them.
