If you haven’t picked a year-end gift for yourself, you’ll be sure to find one in our December issue. Our annual Gear of the Year list includes the best in adventure, lifestyle, fitness, and our favorite products we tested in 2017. In our newest section, The Blueprint, you’ll find a guide for living a longer and stronger life. This month, we explore the benefits of killer jump-rope workout, and ask whether that cumbersome five-mile run is really worth it. For our cover story on Ben Affleck, we skipped the traditional profile. Instead, on the brink of his return as Batman in Justice League (out November 17), we hooked him up with one of his best pals, late-night host Jimmy Kimmel, and just turned on the tape recorder. They do their fair share of joking around, but Affleck gets introspective, opening up about aging and what he has learned since his earliest success—winning an Oscar for Good Will Hunting in 1997. There is also a guide to the best places to ski this year, and a good-old-fashoned adventure yarn about contributor Daniel Duane’s travels off the beaten path in wild Patagonia. We wrap up with the one-and-only Luke Skywalker, as writer Sean Woods sits down with Mark Hamill to discuss his role in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and what his parents thought of his acting career. The December issue is out on newsstands Monday, November 20. Grab a copy at a store near you.
