According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel the man was locked in there all night as a manager did not report the incident until 6:13 a.m. The man told officers he got locked in the cooler just before midnight the evening before, on October 24th. While chilly, a beer blanket would provide warmth.  Around 5:50 a.m. a customer alerted the manager to the beer cooler stowaway. When the man was let out, he left without paying for the three malt beverages and 18-ounce beer he drank, or for the three cases of beer he knocked over and broke.  For his night of sub temperature boozing he was issued a citation for retail theft.
