With smartwatches becoming more and more commonplace, it was only a matter of time before the world of high fashion got ahold of them. This week, Louis Vuitton unveiled its Tambour Horizon line, a collection of incredibly swanky-looking smartwatches made with help from Qualcomm and Google. The watches are running on Google’s new Android Wear 2.0 software, much like the smartwatches from tech giants such as LG and Huawei. Unlike other Android Wear smartwatches, however, the Tambour Horizon smartwatches have exclusive LV watch faces—they are sufficiently classy—along with exclusive apps like My Flight, which updates you on flight times, and City Guide, which gives you tips on hotspots to visit while you travel. It’s worth noting that unlike many modern smartwatches, the Tambour Horizon line lacks a heart-rate sensor, but we didn’t find that particularly surprising—this is designed for stylish travelers who make weekly business trips and probably aren’t too concerned with their resting heart rate at a given notice. The big standout, of course, is the price: The Tambour Horizon line starts at $2,450 for the grey and brown models, with the black model landing at a whopping $2,900. No, that’s not a typo—this is a watch that likely costs three times more than your phone. We’re pretty sure most people can get by just fine with a Fitbit or an Apple Watch, but if your goal is to get people to turn their heads at your latest piece of armwear, the Tambour Horizon is a good bet.
