The moment we’ve all been waiting for has finally arrived: Kai Lenny got the keys to Kelly Slater’s Surf Ranch and we have the footage to prove it. The Maui waterman recently had the opportunity to test out the world’s most perfect man-made wave and he didn’t waste it. Armed with his SUP surfboard, paddle and trusty GoPro, Lenny shredded the pristine wave before tucking in to that mesmerizing barrel. While Lenny is not the first person to take a SUP to the Surf Ranch, that honor belongs to Ian Carns, he certainly raises the bar with this high-performance display. While there are no plans for a SUP surf competition at the Ranch anytime soon, we can always dream about watching the likes of Zane Schweitzer, Kai Lenny, Caio Vaz and other top paddlers duking it out on this perfect wave. In the meantime, check out this footage of Lenny’s big day at the Ranch.
