DC Comics’ most badass assassin is ready for his closeup. Beware, Justice League spoilers lie ahead. After teasing fans with a grainy test video and news that DC’s developing a standalone Deathstroke movie with The Raid director Gareth Edwards, people finally got to see the villain in the flesh in Justice League. In an entertaining post-credits scene, Joe Manganiello appears as Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke, the ruthless assassin and mercenary who decks himself out in a signature helmet, swords, and ferocious armor. Deathstroke meets with the villainous Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg), who has escaped from prison following the events of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. After seeing Superman (Henry Cavill) return from the dead to team up with Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Flash (Ezra Miller), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), and Cyborg (Ray Fisher), Luthor instructs Deathstroke to start putting together a “league” of their own. The scene was one of the highlights of the film, and, following the Thanksgiving holiday, Manganiello posted a photo showing the villain in all his glory. Take a look:

When Manganiello was first cast as the iconic DC villain, he was set to appear in the solo Batman film directed by Affleck. But once that film changed hands to director Matt Reeves, Manganiello’s appearance was less certain. Clearly, DC has big plans for Deathstroke after Manganiello appeared in Justice League, and a solo film with Edwards behind the camera could be one of the most action-packed comic book adaptations ever. Based on his Instagram page, Manganiello will be ready whenever DC comes calling for more Deathstroke. Justice League is now in theaters.
