It’s the time of year to give thanks. With Thanksgiving here, NBA stars around the league are doing their part to give back to the community and help people celebrate the holiday. Throughout the league, players have taken part in NBA Cares Season of Giving events, doing a wide range of things, including turkey drives, dinners and shopping sprees, among others. Ahead of the games Wednesday night on ESPN between the Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets, as well as the Los Angeles Lakers against the New Orleans Pelicans, here’s how some of the players are giving back for the holidays, courtesy of the NBA:

BROOKLYN NETS @ BOSTON CELTICS (7 p.m. ET, ESPN)

Brooklyn Nets center Jarrett Allen hosted his third annual Meals + Math Thanksgiving event where he provided Thanksgiving groceries to 25 local children and their families, giving each child a sample grocery list, calculator and budget of $100 to spend on Thanksgiving essentials while teaching them math and budgeting. (Nov. 19)

L.A. Lakers players Quinn Cook and Dwight Howard began the team’s Season of Giving with a Thanksgiving Feast for more than 250 deserving community members who gathered for a night of festivities, including carnival games and a meal from Lucille’s Smokehouse BBQ. (Nov. 16)
