For those who haven’t heard about it, the SUP 11-City Tour is one of standup paddling’s toughest competitions. Since 2009, over 200 paddlers from around the globe have flocked to the province of Friesland in northern Holland. The race? 136 miles over the course of five grueling days. Weather conditions range from warm sunny days to freezing rain and wind. Despite all the challenges, the race passes some of Holland’s most beautiful landscape and 11 historical cities. From giant windmills to old cottages, lush forests to green pastures, it’s like paddling through a fairytale. 2018 will be the 10th anniversary of the race and to celebrate, they created this slick highlight video. So give it a watch, it may just convince you that 136 miles isn’t so bad.
