You know Herschel Supply Co. for their backpacks, duffels, and other luggage, but these Canadians aren’t satisfied with simply carrying your clothes. Now, they’re making them. The new line of Herschel waterproof jackets is divided into two categories: Voyage, featuring a pullover anorak, coach’s jacket, and windbreaker in a lightweight polyester; and Forecast, which includes a parka and hooded coach’s jacket. Voyage, as you may have guessed, is travel-focused, so it’s lightweight and folds up into an internal pocket in the jacket. Forecast is all about protecting you from the elements and comes in a bit heavier waterproof fabric with a protective coating and welded seams.  The whole collection has a sort-of late 80s-early 90s vibe and comes in a ton of colors and prints — including a funky collaboration with the estate of Keith Haring, the 8os painter/graffiti artist/provocateur whose iconic work exemplifies that era’s pop aesthetic. Haring may have died in 1990 but his artwork lives on and finds an interesting home on Hershel’s product; most feature the artist’s iconic dancing man image. Voyage includes color and print choices like wine, camo, some tri-colors, and even one featuring a repeating bird design. Forecast includes bright blue, a dark blue/bright pink color block, and a black-on-black polka dot. We especially dig the wind jacket in black gridlock (below, $80) with its repeating white cross pattern on black. It’s great for layering in those shoulder seasons when the weather is unpredictable but you aren’t about to let it keep you from looking good. The entire Herschel jacket line is available at Need Supply Co.
