Lamborghini made a sports car especially for Pope Francis—but it seems he’s going to stick with the popemobile. The Italian sports car maker created a special Huracan for His Holiness that he received at the Vatican on Wednesday. The paint job repped the Vatican’s flag colors with papal gold all over the ride, according to ABC News. With a big grin, Pope Francis signed “Francesco” on the hood.

The Pope received a Lambourghini today! But it will not be the new popemobile (can you imagine?!). The Vatican will auction off the car to raise money for several of the Pope’s charitable priorities, including victims of trafficking and poverty in Africa! Starting bid is $250,000….are you in? #Catholic #PopeFrancis #sweetride #Lambourghini A post shared by Catholic News Agency (@catholicnewsagency) on Nov 15, 2017 at 9:38am PST
The car was donated to the Vatican and will be auctioned off through Sotheby’s. The money raised will go toward a number of charities the pope has selected, including one that “helps Christians who are living as refugees in Kurdistan to return to their communities in Iraq.” Start saving those pennies: the auction will go down on May 12, 2018.
