Goodyear is going old school for their new sweepstakes. The company is bringing back the jerseys from the Akron Wingfoots basketball team from 1918 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the team. Fans can win one of the jerseys through the Wingfoots100 sweepstakes, which will run through November 30. The team originally started 100 years ago as a way to test the rubber soles of athletic shoes, and the team later became a pro team and at one point won the National Basketball League title. “Our connection to basketball over the past century is a distinctive part of Goodyear’s heritage and a source of pride for our associates, our former players and basketball fans everywhere,” said general manager of brand marketing at Goodyear Todd Macsuga in a press release. “These unique throwback jerseys are an authentic way to honor that rich tradition.” The Cleveland Cavaliers team were given replica jerseys for their home opener game against the Atlanta Hawks, and fans can try and win a jersey by entering the contest.
