If you’re not using a Sonos Beam soundbar with your television, then you’re just watching tv.

Yes, we know: That sounds like shameless advertising jargon. But we can’t think of a better way to put it. We hooked the Sonos Beam soundbar up to our five-year-old Samsung flat-screen recently, and by crisping up the high-end and boosting the down-low, Beam rounded out our television viewing experience by transforming our ho-hum family room into something akin to a home theater. And right now you can get a great deal on the Beam and other Sonos products.

Set-up was quick and easy. If you don’t want to do it yourself (although it is really simple) Sonos has recently partnered with Enjoy for an in-home personal set-up service. Just make an appointment when you buy your Sonos and a friendly tech delivers your device and gets it all set up for you in a matter of minutes. Whether you’re watching moving pictures or listening to music, podcasts, audiobooks, or whatever, the Sonos Beam fills the room with lush, powerful sound.

Finally, You Can Talk to Your Sonos

I chose the Beam in white, and two matching Sonos One speakers for surround sound home theater effect. The device is sleek and subtle, measuring about three feet long and a couple inches high and deep. The amount of sound—and the quality—that comes booming out of the bar is incredible. The Beam utilizes full-range woofers and tweeters to harmonize low and high frequencies, making it ideal for blockbusters as well as talk shows. The two Ones seamlessly grouped with the Beam for true 5.1 surround sound.

Get A Great Deal Now

Here’s the best part. Right now, the Beam is $349 (that’s $50 off), so you can get a deal on the Sonos Beam just in time for the Big Game. If you’re looking for a different Sonos soundbar, the Playbar and Playbase are also on sale for $599 each, a $100 savings. You can also get the Sonos Sub subwoofer for $599 ($100 off), or an entire 3.1 home theater system with Playbar or Playbase and Sub for $1,198 (that’s $200 off).

Quibbles & Quirks

Sonos and its Beam are not without quirks, however. In order to get the Beam synced, the Enjoy tech had to bypass my Portal 5G/HD router completely and plug the wi-fi straight into the modem. Now Beam and Sonos work fine—but our other household devices might miss the faster 5G/HD wi-fi connection.

Also, the Beam boasts that it doesn’t have its own remote control and instead syncs to your existing tv remote. This is true. The Ones, though, do not sync to the remote and their volume still has to be adjusted manually. (Alternatively, Alexa can also control the volume of all three devices individually.)

Still, despite these quibbles my television viewing experience has improved dramatically. It’s also cool using the Beam to play music in the living room, and being able to unplug and relocate a One to another room for listening there.

If you’re looking into a soundbar for your television, the Beam is an excellent option.
