Imagine, feminine, fashionable swimwear that can actually withstand the force of catching waves, without the fear of a wardrobe malfunction. That’s what lululemon had in mind when they decided to launch a swim and surf wear line this month in collaboration with pro surfer Malia Manuel.
Malia Manuel x lululemon. Photo: Courtesy of lululemon The design team at lululemon was inspired by the surfer’s mindful approach to her sport as well as her authenticity. Combining Manuel’s surf mentality and free spirit on the water with the fabric and function expertise from the Vancouver-based sportswear brand, a beautiful collection of bikinis and long-sleeve one-pieces were born.
Photo: Courtesy of lululemon Each of the pieces were created with functionality in mind, so you’ll find quick-drying fabrics, bonded edges, and cuts that hug the body tight and feel secure while catching waves. Lululemon’s Esca fabric provides UV protection, as well as quick-dry properties that work together to keep you comfortable in and out of the water. If you’re looking for a flattering suit that can also withstand your active water-centric lifestyle – or if you just want a suit that you can do more than just tan in, and wear swimming without worrying about anything popping out – check out the lululemon x Malia Manuel line. A couple of our favorite pieces from the collection include the Will The Wave Bikini Top ($68), Will The Wave Bikini Bottom ($68) and the Will The Wave Long Sleeve One Piece ($128).
