Traditional soft-shell rooftop tents are typically squeezed inside of a bag which can make assembling it and packing it away feel like a task. But earlier this week, iKamper unveiled the X-Cover, a coverless soft-shell/hard-shell blend that makes this process a whole lot easier.
The X-Cover fully assembled. Photo: Courtesy of iKamper When assembling the X-Cover, all you need to do is unzip the soft-shell’s protective outer layer, attach the expandable ladder to the top hard-shell, pull it down and watch the tent do the rest.
The X-Cover’s king-size mattress sleeps 3-4 people comfortably with a family of two adults and two children, or up to three adults. It also contains a water-resistant 300 GSM poly-cotton canvas, waterproof zippers and waterproof rain fly, five large windows, crossbars across the top, weighs 103 pounds and sits 10-inches tall.
