Earlier this year, Vans overhauled skate team rider Gilbert Crockett’s signature shoe and spawned the Crockett Pro 2 ($70). It aimed to marry the board feel of a vulcanized shoe with the support of a cup sole through their revolutionary vulcanized Wafflecup construction.
Now, just in time for fall, Vans has updated the Crockett Pro 2 and provided two new colorways in gunmetal/gum and white/black to further enhance the first vulcanized cup sole in skateboarding.

Photo: Courtesy of Vans Boasting a new and improved outsole that utilizes the performance advancements of the Vans Wafflecup technology, the second edition of the Crockett Pro 2 provides the premium support and board feel demanded by skateboarders all over the world. It also includes a blind-seam suede overlay on the toe cap, which helps the Vans Duracap toe cap reinforcement capabilities. Back when the first edition of the Crockett Pro 2 launched, Crockett himself had this to say about the inspiration behind the new design: “World War II era tennis shoes, modern tennis shoes, 90’s Vans. I wanted to make something that looked a little bit sporty but a classic skate shoe at the same time. I’m so stoked on how they turned out.”
