The boat series, as Ebersold explains, is perfect for fitness paddling during the week and capable of packing enough overnight gear for a weekend expedition while keeping up with “friends in longer boats at conversational speeds.” The horizon-expanding, deep-water capable line of thermoform kayaks is available in three sizes: the 13-foot-9-inch, 43-lb. Sitka ST (formerly the Samba); the new, mid-size 14.5-foot, 47-pound Sitka LT; and the larger 15-foot-3, 50-lb. Sitka XT (formerly the Denali). Beyond the retractable skeg and well-placed hatches, outfitting extras extend padding from seat bottom to hip pads and thigh braces, with adjustable, sliding seats and backrest.
