There are many things Eli Manning can do: father three children, secure two Super Bowl rings, and, in the process, charm all of New York into adopting a Louisiana boy as their own after 14 seasons as the starting Quarter Back of The New York Giants. One thing he can’t do, however, is design a watch. For that, he went to the experts at Hublot, whose Switzerland-based design team turned out a beautifully crafted timepiece that checked all of the boxes required by the youngest Manning football prodigy.

“They know what they’re doing with watches,” Manning told Men’s Journal during a private dinner held at Manhattan’s storied Metropolitan Club. “They asked what I like, and there are a few things, usually something classic with a bigger face, but I said, ‘Hey, you’re the experts who have been doing this for a long time. I’ll trust in you.’ I’m just happy that they asked!” It marks a significant upgrade in Manning’s personal collection, which he started at a pretty young age. “I don’t have a big personal collection of watches,” he admitted. “A lot of it is really just stuff I’ve had from growing up, but I’ve always worn a watch, I think since I was 6 years old. My dad had some endorsements with Gatorade, so my first watch had a Gatorade logo on it. I know Gatorade didn’t make the watch, but I’ve called it ‘The Gatorade Watch’ my whole life, and I think my dad is still wearing one. I’ve moved on a little bit though; this Hublot is much better than my Gatorade watch.” The finished product boasts a self-winding chronograph movement, a lacquered blue matte dial, and a blue pebbled leather strap that appropriately mimics the same stitching and hand-feel as a football. Only 22 of the coveted timepieces exist, and while we think it’s safe to say that at least one of them has found a permanent spot in Manning’s collection.
