One week from now, a long line will probably snake outside and around David Chang’s Fuku in New York City. While it’s not really an unusual sight for anyone who’s ever gone there at lunchtime for a spicy chicken sandwich so delicious it holds the power to make grown men cry tears of joy, the line will be for a different reason this time: a pair of high-top Nikes.

Today Eater reported that chef and author David Chang is the latest to score a footwear deal, and it’s safe to say no pair of kicks has made us salivate quite like these. The shoes look fairly minimal, with denim covering the Nike logo and could replace your other go-to casual sneakers. They’ll cost the same as about a dozen Fuku spicy fried chicken sandwiches — $110 — and Nike also designed it with a Lucky Peach logo near the back of the upper. “This is all so crazy! I’ve looked up to Nike as a brand and company for years,” Chang told Eater. We suggest getting yourself to New York to stand in line at Fuku before the shoe drops on Thursday at 10 a.m. Yes, you can expect a bit of a wait, but that’s why you should stock up on Chang’s Milk Bar Compost Cookies now — and the cake truffles, and some cereal milk ice cream, and… forget it, just buy an entire cake.
