Surfer Rodrigo Koxa really knows how to catch a wave. The Brazilian native has officially set a world record for largest wave ever ridden by successfully riding an 80-foot monster swell at the Nazaré break in Portugal, according to the World Surf League.

Koxa made his incredible ride on November 8, 2017, but the WSL only officially confirmed the record on Saturday. The previous record, a 78-foot wave ride by Garrett McNamara in 2011, was also set at Nazaré. Koxa’s amazing ride earned him the Quiksilver XXL Biggest Wave Award at the World Surf League’s Big Wave Awards, a $25,000 prize, and a place in the Guinness World Record books. Koxa said that breaking the record was “the best day of my life,” according to the BBC.
