A liquor store clerk was behind the counter when he noticed what he thought was a large dog wander into the store—until he saw its snout. It was a small bear. The bear walked in, stood up and began checking out the candy display of Liquor Barrel in Lemon Creek near Juneau, Alaska, on Friday. The closed-circuit camera caught the bear’s actions:
Roger Thibodeau, the clerk, saw the bear enter the store at 8:30 a.m. He described it as a cinnamon-colored juvenile about the size of an adult malamute dog, according to KTOO. “It was very young I thought,” Thibodeau told KTOO. “There might be some other ones; a momma bear may be close by and I didn’t want to get too close to it.” He didn’t have to because a customer began clapping his hands and shooed the bear out the door. “I think that was the closest I’ve ever been to a bear,” Thibodeau told KTOO. “I was basically kind of stunned when I saw it.” When last seen, the bear was heading toward Harri Plumbing & Heating. h/t Alaska Dispatch News Read more about bears on GrindTV Bear in Yosemite is accidentally sucked down waterfall; video Two men feed a black bear by hand and pay the price; video Hunter attacked by bear in viral video gets revenge, tells his story
