Apple’s 9.7-inch iPad model is getting a major upgrade. The company announced Thursday at its education-themed event in Chicago that the newest iPad model will have updated graphics, enhanced performance, and augmented reality capabilities. And unlike the previous model, this one will have will have support for Apple Pencil, allowing users to create handwritten notes, illustrations, and markups on documents and screenshots.

Starting at $329, this iPad model has a focus on creativity and educational apps, and includes the powerful A10 Fusion chip, allowing for faster and cleaner graphics. The upgrade also includes an enhanced camera with 1080p HD video capabilities, a large Retina display, and a higher-resolution touch sensor for use with the Apple Pencil. “iPad is our vision for the future of computing and hundreds of millions of people around the world use it every day at work, in school and for play,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s vice president of Product Marketing, in a press release. “Our most popular and affordable iPad now includes support for Apple Pencil, bringing the advanced capabilities of one of our most creative tools to even more users.” The device is available in silver and space gray, as well as a new gold finish, and will be available for schools at a reduced price starting at $299. The Apple Pencil can be bought separately for $99, and discounted to $89 for schools. This iPad will be able to last for 10 hours on a single charge, so next time you’re stuck in class or in a meeting with a client and you need to whip up a quick presentation, you can be confident your device will have enough charge for it.
