On September 15, 2018, East Coast and world traveling paddlers will have a unique opportunity to partake in one of the most iconic paddles imaginable: a historic 11-kilometer race from the Freedom Tower in NYC to the Statue of Liberty and back. This bucket-list paddle for SUP racers is a highlight on the 2nd stop of the APP World Tour and the NY SUP Open. The race, the distance component for the NY SUP Open, will be a 11KM dash out into the current laden waters of the Hudson River and around the statue. This is a showcase event for this year’s 2018 APP World Tour as it kicks off a week-long competition of distance racing sprints and surfing for the NY SUP Open. There are spots for an additional 100 ProAm paddlers for the Statue of Liberty race who want to compete in this historic event. This day-long urban beach extravaganza will include live music and dance performances, Kids Clinics, stand up paddle demo sessions, opportunities to Meet & Greet the Pros, as well as a Movie Screening. This is an event for the entire family! Families are encouraged to bring the kids and experience the retail village, local food cards and the entertainment that makes the City Paddle Festival an event for everyone.
