Throughout all the years that Teton Gravity Research (TGR) has been around, one of their biggest influences has been the Grateful Dead. The band’s iconic music has inspired countless titles and athletes in our industry. So, to celebrate that influence, they worked with professional skier Chris Benchetler, Atomic and Dakine on Grateful Dead-inspired skis and apparel.
Chris Benchetler holding his collaborative creation. They’re going to be released at the beginning of March 2019, and will be available only in very limited quantities. Each pair is individually numbered and signed by Benchetler. You can buy them at the TGR store in Jackson and also their website on March 1. In addition to the skis, TGR is hosting an event and releasing exclusive product – leading up to a concert with the Deadlocks. First stop is a Grateful Dead-inspired art show, “Fire on the Mountain.” Featuring Skye Walker, it will take place at the TGR store off Jackson Square on Feb. 8 from 6-9 p.m. Chris Benchetler also designed a capsule collection of collaborative TGR x Grateful Dead apparel. Available exclusively at the Jackson TGR store and online on Feb 8.
A look at the designs done by Benchetler. And finally, the Deadlocks concert will be on Feb. 8 at 10 p.m. at the Glorietta. (242 Glenwood St, Jackson, WY 83001.) All photos by TGR.
