In this spinoff from the original Men in Black series, a London-based team of MiB agents are tasked with solving a murder mystery that’ll take them around the globe, and, of course, cross paths with numerous types of aliens and extraterrestrial threats.   This time around, Hemsworth is playing Agent H, while Thompson’s character, Agent M, is brought in to be his new partner. The duo report to Liam Neeson’s character, who heads the London-based branch of the organization, while Emma Thompson is back as Agent O, the head of the U.S. branch of MiB.

Sony While original Men in Black stars Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are not in the movie, they’re referenced in the trailer as two of the best agents the organization’s ever had. Entertainment Weekly recently got an in-depth first-look at the film in the January 18 issue of the magazine. You can check out the story here, and here are some highlights from the piece:

“I think the biggest difference [in this story] is that this time the enemy is within,” said producer Walter F. Parkes. “… I think you do have the chance inside all of this escapism to say something, and make a movie that has heart and that has satire and that holds up a mirror to our stuff. I think that’s possible, without preaching,” said Tessa Thompson. “The twins are out-of-this-world incredible, amazing… It’s like some sort of high-speed, very postproduction altered state,” said Chris Hemsworth on the casting the NBC World of Dance stars Laurent and Larry Bourgeois.

Men In Black: International, directed by F. Gary Gray (Fate of the Furious), will be released on June 14, 2019.
